Young Carers

Our Eastleigh Young Carers Project offers flexible support for any young person aged 8 to 18 in the Eastleigh Borough whose life is significantly affected by caring for a family member, like a parent or a sibling, who has an illness, disability, mental health or substance misuse problem.

The project gives young carers the opportunity to meet others in a similar situation, take some well deserved time off, learn coping strategies and have fun. Through this project, we aim to empower young people and provide them with positive experiences in a safe and fun environment where they are free to be themselves.

What we offer:

  • Term time Youth Clubs
  • Events in school holidays
  • Information and Signposting
  • Life Skills and Wellbeing Workshops
  • Peer Mentoring
  • Exploration Workshop
  • Occasional Residential Breaks
  • Informal advocacy

Our mission

To improve the lives of young carers by providing safe, quality support. We aim to promote wellbeing and resilience through a holistic approach, which considers the needs of the whole family and minimises the physical and emotional impacts of caring.

Our vision

To provide a place where children and young people reach their potential and achieve a positive transition to adulthood, regardless of their family circumstances. We hope to empower them to make a valuable contribution to their community.
