If you know anyone connected to our accessible bus services, you will know what a VITAL service they provide for older and disabled people. PLEASE show your support and complete the Hampshire consultation on community transport. Every voice is important.
We are really excited to meet this passionate bunch of volunteers at Fareham Community Hospital.
They are starting a great service of voluntary transport and they also need administration support.

As part of its response to the public health emergency posed by COVID-19 #Coronavirus, Hampshire County Council has extended the hours of operation of the Hampshire ENCTS bus pass scheme from its current 09:30 to 24:00 on weekdays and at all times at weekends and on public holidays, to all days and all times.
This will only apply to those community transport services on which people can currently use their bus passes.
This will apply to One Community’s Dial-A-Ride, #Dial-A-Ride Shopping services and #ParishLink, but not the Hedge End Park service.
This is a temporary measure for the duration of the public health #emergency only.

We wish all our; customers, staff, volunteers and the communities of Eastleigh and Fareham we serve, a very happy new year!
Looking back over 2019, we have done so much! Looking back to Shop Mobility collecting their service award from the mayor of Eastleigh, fast forward to moving to our temporary premises at 75 Leigh Road.
We have all worked hard to improve the lot of people in Fareham and Eastleigh through our community project support, volunteering, Eastleigh museum’s and Fareham’s shop outreach and Young Carers groups. Our transport appeal for funding for a new bus is almost at the point of being able to get one on the road and the day activity services are a fun and welcoming place to be.
One Community is changing and in 2020 and we are looking forward to sharing a swan centre shop with local charity Fledge in the spring. We have several new training opportunities too.
Wishing all of you a very happy new year!
From all of us at One Community.
You will all know that One Community moved out of our Romsey Road address at the end of September 2019. It was a MASSIVE undertaking and took a great deal of planning and practical hands on to achieve. With many hands to the pump, transport department were able to get through their sorting, packing and moving.
We have moved into our offices into 75 Leigh road, and are all set up, taking your calls and bookings.
As with the whole team, we know we are only here for a year or so while the Romsey Road buildings are demolished and a really nice, modern practical office space is built for us to move back into.
At the moment, the building we are in has not got any disabled access. So, if you need to see us, face to face, please just ring or email us and we can arrange to meet you at The Point in Eastleigh (almost straight opposite from number 75 Leigh Road.)

A couple of weeks ago we ran an INSTAGRAM competition. It was for people to take photographs of our buses in the area, upload them to their INSTAGRAM account and tag @1Comm (our charity’s account).
There was a wonderful prize of afternoon tea offered for the winning photograph.
We had a good look at the entries and in the end agreed on:
“Pussy Passengers”
Yesterday we were able to congratulate the winner, Ricky Vivian….
Ricky said:
“Thank you for this wonderful prize. I will enjoy taking my Mum on the Watercress line for our afternoon tea.”
Congratulations Ricky from all of us at One Community!
We need more drivers to volunteer with us. Have a read of this and see if it chimes with you? Is this the sort of thing you would like to get involved in?
Are you sitting comfortably? Then I will begin! One day one of our passengers booked his dial-a-ride as he wanted to go to Haskins in West End to buy an Aloe Vera plant. All ready to go, he was geared up but when the day came, he was not well enough to go. He was ever so disappointed.
There was no chance of getting one any other way.
But One Community’s transport team swung into action and someone took time out at the weekend and bought him an Aloe Vera plant!
He was overjoyed with his lovely plant and the genuine kindness shown.
We would LOVE to hear from you if you could offer a few hours volunteering as a driver for us.
