Senior Santa gives 60 presents

by Jenni Bevis-Lacey

All your wonderful gifts are ready to go and 60 of them are off to Community First’s Day Centre.

Pam has been given her gift by one of our elves already!

Thank you so much for your kind giving. Our shop volunteers have been wrapping them ready to give to people who otherwise may not have anything to unwrap.

If you have a few things you have ready to donate, it isn’t too late to put them unwrapped into the huge empty present inside the Fareham Shopping Centre.

Loneliness, Christmas Tea Appeal

by Jenni Bevis-Lacey

We know many people in Eastleigh and Fareham have struggled with isolation and loneliness this past year in particular.

To cheer them right up we are holding a Christmas Tea for them at Eastleigh Museum to meet one another and enjoy a bit of festive cheer.

We made a little film for you to watch and share all about it:

https://youtu.be/2Gk-3qS-cfM

Please sponsor a place for a lonely person to meet with others at a special
Christmas Tea at Eastleigh Museum.

To give text 1COMM10 to 20085 or pop a tenner in an envelope labelled Christmas Tea Appeal into One Community office, 75 Leigh Rd, Eastleigh, SO50 9PQ

Christmas waste & recycling

by Jenni Bevis-Lacey

Over the festive period there is much more rubbish left out for the bins than normal.

Each district we support at One Community has slightly different services and guidelines.

Here are the guidelines and service details for areas served by Fareham Borough Council.

In the area served by Eastleigh Borough Council, here are the details.

In the early part of 2021 One Community will be looking at improving our communities environments and ways of making our lives more ecologically sustainable.

Day Activity Centre Christmas

by Jenni Bevis-Lacey

The festive season is nearly with us and our Day Service teams have been planning plenty of opportunities for fun!

All of these pictures were taken at our central day activity centre.

There was plenty of music, singing and dancing and a wonderful treat when the children from local school, The Crescent came along to sing.

We have got some beautiful cards made too!

If you would like to do something different with your time, you could volunteer to help in the day service. If you would like more details or to chat through how we’d support, encourage and equip you to do it. Ring Julia on 02380902457

Email volunteer@1community.org.uk

If you know someone who has got some memory loss and would benefit from coming to do a range of activities, have a good hot meal and meet new friends, please get in touch.

Ring Hayley Malcolm on 02380902400

Email Hmalcolm@1community.org.uk

We would love to hear from you?

Make a Christmas Tree

by Jenni Bevis-Lacey

On Saturday the 14th of December, pop into Eastleigh Museum.

Between ten o’clock and midday you can make a Mini Christmas tree decoration. Bring your children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and your friends kiddies as this is FREE of charge.

Stay with them and have a cuppa while you are waiting. There’s a really good coffee in there- arguably the best in Eastleigh.

You don’t even need to book, just come on in.
