Were you there at the mascot march on Saturday?

by Jenni Bevis-Lacey

In Fareham on Saturday we held our Mascot March.

The weather was kind and lots of people came out to see the good causes of Fareham parading their mascots through the town.

Loads of selfies later, we made a little film.

White ribbon day. NO to violence against women.

by Jenni Bevis-Lacey

Today is White Ribbon Day, Thursday 25 November, and during the 16 days that follow, we are asking all people in our communities, organisations and workplaces, to come together, and say ‘no’ to violence against women.

More than ever before, we need to get the message out that men’s violence against women and girls must end.  And that all men can make a difference.  #AllMenCan is the leading message this year. It was developed for the White Ribbon Campaign in March when the murder of Sarah Everard brought women’s experience of men’s violence to the forefront of everyone’s minds.  It also opened up so many conversations about men taking action and making a stand.  As we move towards the end of the year we want as many people as possible, including men, to think carefully and make the White Ribbon Promise to never commit, excuse or remain silent about male violence against women.

The Hampshire Domestic Abuse Partnership would also like to encourage all its members to ensure that they have an up to date, accessible, survivor informed workplace domestic abuse policy to support any employees who may be living with domestic abuse.

The Hampshire Domestic Abuse Partnershipwebsite holds a wealth of information, including new pages about workplace policies and support (with links to toolkits for implementation and other resources) and a dedicated web page for this year’s White Ribbon & 16 Days of Action campaigns, including information about a number of free webinars and events during the next 16 days.

Senior Santa presents

by Jenni Bevis-Lacey

Did you see our Senior Santa launch in the newspaper?

There are a number of older people who do not have any presents to open on Christmas Day. We think this is really rubbish! So we decided to work with Fareham Shopping Centre and ask you, the public to bring in a gift for an older person to go in this HUGE Christmas Box.

Huge red and white Christmas box to fill with presents.

The box will be emptied every night for our team in the shop to sort, wrap and distribute.

If you would like to bring some Christmas cheer to an older and isolated person, bring your gift and pop it into the huge present in the centre.

Thank you.

We have had a very unusual year and there are several people we have helped who wanted to leave comments for us.

Here is the presentation shown at the AGM which includes a number of quotes from you, the public and our volunteers alongside some of the amazing things we have been doing.

Our impact has been substantial in 2020-21 and this represents a snapshot of our activities.
