Radio show- ARK

This week Community Hour features our guest Bruce, Team Leader @arkeastleigh explaining how they have been working during the covid times.

ARK stands for ACTS OF RANDOM KINDNESS.

ARK Eastleigh serves the vulnerable and excluded in the community through practical acts of kindness, befriending and informal advocacy.

They work in partnership with other local organisations to reduce social isolation and empower families and individuals to overcome the challenges they face.

They are a Christian founded organisation and work via referrals.

Unity101fm Blue Lamp Trust (and Cricket!)

Get yourself settled and be amazed by the fabulous Blue Lamp Trust.

There’s the Bobby scheme (safety and security support for vulnerable people.)

The taxi test and other training for drivers too.

September brings the launch of a new initiative safeguarding for taxi drivers.

We really did have a great chat about all this and we had a lovely talk, explaining all about how cricket works!

Community Hour- Chrysalis.

Guest writer, information, volunteering and community sector advisor and all round fabulous regular radio101 community hour presenter, Naomi Stock, writes:

Tuesday’s radio show – on the Community Hour at Unity 101 radio, Naomi from One Community interviewed Andi Maratos, the CEO of Chrysalis.  Chrysalis is a charity supporting transgender and questioning people, their families and close friends.    

We found out who their famous patron is and how they have supported Chrysalis, how many cats Andi had at one stage, plus some case study work involving the charity’s work.  To listen to the show, here is the link:

Staging Faith Interview.

Today, live on Unity101fm we interviewed the wonderful Joanna from Staging Faith.
We talked about loads of things! The point being that Staging Faith is a group set up for children and young people from year 4 and up. The children who go come from various churches, faiths and religions but come together to do a play about common values. This time the play is called “Vincent” and is all about kindness. As you will hear on the podcast, Joanna and her team have put their all into providing an exciting evening entertainment that gives young people a chance to hone their skills.

Staging faith has a few tickets left for Friday 31st May and several tickets left for Saturday 1st June. They cost £2 a ticket. 7.30 start. At Chandlers Ford Methodist Church.
