Exciting new YouTube “One Community Conversations” with coffee.

by Jenni Bevis-Lacey

One Community really wants to encourage you to get more involved with the community where you live.

So, we have started making some YouTubes about subjects we are involved in promoting at One Community.

We have a lot of information and support on Trustees, therefore “Trustees” is the topic of the first “Community Conversation.”

It is relaxed, fun and chatty but also very informative about what a trustee is and is mostly speaking with people who are actually trustees.

Watch “What is a Trustee?” a One Community Conversation. and find out more about being a trustee.

Please click on our YouTube channel to subscribe and then you can catch all the YouTube’s we produce.

Volunteers Week 2019 A BIG THANK YOU!

by Jenni Bevis-Lacey

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I should like to thank all our wonderful volunteers who support those who use our services. Whether your voluntary role brings you into face contact with people, you work behind the scenes, help with fundraising, marketing or research or if you are one of the many partners of our volunteers supporting them to give their time to One Community – a huge thank you. Without you we could not do the things we do, or maintain the consistency, reliability and standard and thereby together we make a difference to the lives of many people.
Many thanks,

Adrian

Annual General Meeting 2018

by Jenni Bevis-Lacey

40th Anniversary AGM.

Our AGM, at The Point in Eastleigh on Tuesday 18 September, celebrated our 40th anniversary.

In attendance were members, guests, staff and volunteers, past and present, including former Chief Executive Ken Dufton.

Three trustees were re-appointed: Professor Sri Kandiah (chair), David Wrighton, Gareth Davies, and new trustee Julian Smith was elected. Chair of One Community, Professor Sri Kandiah, announced his decision to stand down in March 2019 after many years of service to the Board.

New Friends of One Community were appointed – a band of supporters who act as ambassadors telling people about the charity’s work and helping the team.

These are:
Jackie Moger, daughter of Peter and Freda Molyneux (Peter was a founding member of the charity); Kari Pratt, Community Champion, Tesco Fareham; Sharon Noble, Community Champion, Asda Fareham.

A presentation film was shown: A year in a Life of One Community, and the 40th anniversary cake was cut.

Please see the presentation film below:

Attendees were invited to go on to Eastleigh Museum where an exhibition “One Community – The First 40 Years” is showing until 10 November.

If you use Twitter, you can follow the notes of the day using the hashtag #1comAGM
