Happy New Year
We wish all our; customers, staff, volunteers and the communities of Eastleigh and Fareham we serve, a very happy new year!
Looking back over 2019, we have done so much! Looking back to Shop Mobility collecting their service award from the mayor of Eastleigh, fast forward to moving to our temporary premises at 75 Leigh Road.
We have all worked hard to improve the lot of people in Fareham and Eastleigh through our community project support, volunteering, Eastleigh museum’s and Fareham’s shop outreach and Young Carers groups. Our transport appeal for funding for a new bus is almost at the point of being able to get one on the road and the day activity services are a fun and welcoming place to be.
One Community is changing and in 2020 and we are looking forward to sharing a swan centre shop with local charity Fledge in the spring. We have several new training opportunities too.
Wishing all of you a very happy new year!
From all of us at One Community.
Day Activity Centre Christmas
The festive season is nearly with us and our Day Service teams have been planning plenty of opportunities for fun!
All of these pictures were taken at our central day activity centre.
There was plenty of music, singing and dancing and a wonderful treat when the children from local school, The Crescent came along to sing.
We have got some beautiful cards made too!
If you would like to do something different with your time, you could volunteer to help in the day service. If you would like more details or to chat through how we’d support, encourage and equip you to do it. Ring Julia on 02380902457

We would love to hear from you?
Army volunteers.
This week we have been having some amazing new volunteers, from the British Army no less!
Working on a One Community filming project, to be shown later this year, the soldiers have been out at our various locations. ShopMobility, Eastleigh Museum and Day Activity Centres have all had visits.
Today our chief executive Jean Roberts-Jones has been interviewed.
Our special employee, LBE the canine partner dog, gave them a very warm welcome!
Vote FOR US! (We actually do stuff!)
Just four days left until nominations close for the @Ecclesiastical Movement for Good awards. Your nomination could make all the difference. Visit ecclesiastical.com/movementforgood and enter our details. Thank you for your support and please share! #movementforgood
£1,000 could make a big difference to the work One Community does supporting people and groups in the Eastleigh and Fareham areas. That’s why we’d be really grateful if you could nominate us in the Ecclesiastical Movement for Good awards. Your nomination could be the one that wins us £1,000.
The awards are designed to give eligible charities in the UK and Republic of Ireland the financial assistance they need to help them make a real difference. In total, 500 charities stand to gain £1,000 and we’d love to be one of them. £1000 could provide our Day Activity Centres with entertainment for 20 days, restock our dementia friendly board games, or pay for two activity days for our Young Carers.
It’s quick and easy to nominate us. Just visit ecclesiastical.com/movementforgood , click ‘nominate now’ and enter our details. It will ask for our charity number, which is 1052978. The closing date for nominations is Friday 17 May 2019. The more nominations we get, the greater our chance of winning, so please spread the word to your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your time and support.
