Student Volunteering
Network now to improve your future choices and influence your potential employers!
College is stressful, there’s no doubt about that, however having a positive distraction for just a few hours a week can help reduce stress. This can easily be achieved by networking, creating your own skills bank, gaining new experiences while giving some time to benefit others.
Being a student or graduate is arguably tougher than it has ever been before. With a rising number of people opting to study for a degree after finishing college, more students and graduates are competing for entry level jobs. This, coupled with escalating university costs, means that both will certainly have it tough for the considerable future. However, it is important not to despair; there are still plenty of things that students and recent graduates can do to strengthen their CV, and to broaden their horizons. Perhaps the most valuable is volunteering.
Volunteering can help with:
- Learning to work as part of a team
- Building your CV while you explore possible careers
- Developing relevant experience for your personal statement
- Learning how to be a leader
- Gaining references
- Making a difference for others as much as for yourself
One Community can help you find the right placement!
