One Community is 40 years old this year and we are planning a series of events to celebrate our achievements over the years, starting with a Community Showcase at The Point, 10am-2pm on Sunday 28 January. Over 50 local charities, voluntary and community sector organisations will be showing off what they have to offer.
This free event is for anyone interested in volunteering, finding out about leisure and community activities or services available to support them or their friends and family members.
We also want to hear from anyone who has a memory of One Community over the years. Did you work for One Community, or Eastleigh Community Services as it used to be called, either as an employee or volunteer? If so, we would love to hear from you as we plan to hold an exhibition of photographs and memories at Eastleigh Museum to celebrate our 40th anniversary.
“It is appropriate,” said Chief Executive Jean Roberts-Jones, “that our first major event in 2018 is at The Point as this is where our first real offices were located, in the old Town Hall.”
Anyone who wishes to share a memory, please contact Jean or her team on 023 8090 2400 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
