To feel a real sense of the spirit of Christmas, don’t miss our Community Christmas Tree Festival in the exhibition gallery at Eastleigh Museum until 6 January 2018 (12th night). There are beautiful trees, clever trees, funny trees and trees to touch your heart, from a variety of local voluntary and community organisations.
The festival features a six-foot knitted tree from North Baddesley WI, a brick tree from Bursledon Brickworks, a book tree from Eastleigh Library, a tin can tree from Eastleigh Basics Bank, a sack cloth and corn dolly tree from Bursledon Windmill and an inflatable tree from One Community Transport. The Hortic Therapy tree smells deliciously Christmassy hung with dried orange and cinnamon, while others are cleverly constructed and strikingly attractive, full of colour and light.
We’re impressed with the creative interpretation of “Christmas Tree”, and with 23 local organisations represented, there is lots to see—and admission is free!
