ShopMobility and Dial-A-Ride

by Jenni Bevis-Lacey

Would you like to look round the shops, stop for a coffee and have a sit about in the park? Is this a distant dream as you have had a recent operation, a poorly leg, iffy balance, an accident or just poor mobility?
Maybe you have a medical condition that makes you exhausted quickly and you just need a bit of physical support but don’t know which one would suit you best.

We have a FABULOUS solution for you here at Eastleigh ShopMobility. Recently we have won the BID Gold Award for customer services. We are open from 9-4.30 Monday-Friday. 9-4 on a Saturday (Closed on Sundays.)

You can hire; Scooters, Powerchairs or manual chairs.
To register or just make a booking please telephone 023 8090 2402 or email us here
The Shopmobility office is located at:
Unit 2, Swan Centre, Wells Place, Eastleigh, Hants SO50 9SG.

It is a flat cost of £8 to become a member of ShopMobility. Once you are a member you can benefit from a much cheaper rate of hire.

You can book a manual wheelchair for a day- £3 for a non member and £1.50 for a member, if you wanted an extended lease (as in overnight) this can be arranged for a further £1.50

If you are a member you can book a powerchair or a scooter for a day for £3 or £5 if you are a non member.

If it is difficult to drive or get a lift into Eastleigh, please contact our Dial-A-Ride services who will happily book you on one of our friendly community service buses.
Pre 9.30am, local shorter journeys eg from Boyatt Wood or Cherbourg Road to Eastleigh ShopMobility cost £2 (return) per passenger. After 9.30am the cost is £1.50 return. For longer journeys e.g. from Hedge End to ShopMobility in Eastleigh it would be £3.
For further information please contact the Dial-A-Ride office on 023 8090 2450 or
023 8090 2432. Or email: lplestead@1community.org.uk

We are looking for volunteer drivers- if you would like to apply- email Charlotte volunteer@1community.org.uk
