We wish all our; customers, staff, volunteers and the communities of Eastleigh and Fareham we serve, a very happy new year!
Looking back over 2019, we have done so much! Looking back to Shop Mobility collecting their service award from the mayor of Eastleigh, fast forward to moving to our temporary premises at 75 Leigh Road.
We have all worked hard to improve the lot of people in Fareham and Eastleigh through our community project support, volunteering, Eastleigh museum’s and Fareham’s shop outreach and Young Carers groups. Our transport appeal for funding for a new bus is almost at the point of being able to get one on the road and the day activity services are a fun and welcoming place to be.
Wishing all of you a very happy new year!
From all of us at One Community.
These events are all happening in support of the Eastleigh Mayors charities which, this year, include One Community projects.
Where else would you see a Christmas tree entirely made of spectacles or – socks – than Eastleigh Museum’s Upcycled Christmas Tree Festival! This is One Community’s third annual Community Christmas Tree Festival at the museum and this year the theme is upcycling, to focus on environmental concerns and the re-purposing of what might otherwise be discarded.
Local voluntary and community groups have let their imaginations run riot – and we can guarantee that you won’t have seen as many milk bottle tops used in an art installation – ever!
The trees are in turn quirky, clever and beautiful, and viewed together are stunning, and each gives a message about the work done by each of the organisations represented.
Admission is free and the exhibition runs from 23 November to 4 January in Eastleigh Museum’s temporary exhibition gallery.

At the West Street Christmas Lights event in Fareham on the 24th of November, you can come and find Hayley and the team and play some silly games. The event is running from 10-6 and is a lovely community event. This year the theme is a Victorian Christmas.
Games include splat the rat… and…..Pick a snowman’s nose.Yes, any carrot could win and it has to be an improvement for our poor specimen here! He’s more of a Kira Knightley than a Barry Manilow that’s for sure!
It is just £1 for 3 goes. Everyone gets a prize.
So come and join us and win!
On Saturday the 16th of November, our very own Santa came to Eastleigh Museum.
Here is the wonderful team who really made the day fabulous and the grotto inviting.
We had lots of families, with young and not so young come in to see us. It was a really lovely time of lights, fun and community.
