Change to Membership of One Community
We have been reviewing the membership structure of One Community in order to achieve the best possible service for the organisations with whom we work. Our aim is to make Core Membership more accessible and to preserve existing benefits in our Core Plus membership. One Community’s Board of Trustees has approved this new structure and, as of 1 April 2020, annual Core Membership will be free to all voluntary/community groups (including social enterprises) working in our current areas of benefit – the boroughs of Eastleigh and Fareham. Core Member organisations will be entitled to our volunteer and community support services but will not have the right to vote at our AGM.
For Core Plus members who wish to use our enhanced services (including Community Transport, Room Hire, DBS services), and have priority booking of our current training and marketing opportunities to promote their service (eg Network, Volunteering Matters, Unity 101, Pop Up Shops), and be able to vote at our AGM, there will be an annual fee of £17.50, payable by Direct Debit.
Associate Membership will be open to statutory agencies and non not-for-profit organisations. Associate Members will be entitled to the same as Core Plus members for a fee of £25, but will not be able to vote at our AGM.
An additional benefit of being a Core Plus member will be that One Community will introduce two open sessions during the year 2020/21 (one afternoon, one evening), where all Core Plus members will have the opportunity to meet Trustees and Senior Managers to ask about the future direction of both One Community and the voluntary sector in general, as well as having the opportunity to network. These opportunities will also provide One Community with vital insight in the work, successes and challenges of Core Plus Members allowing us to share key messages with statutory agencies with whom we work.
If you have any queries about the new membership structure, please call us on 023 8090 2458 or email email@example.com

Tea with Twist
One Community is working in partnership to set up a new project in Hedge End. Launching in February, Tea with a Twist will be an opportunity for local people to access information about local services, whilst meeting friends and having a cup of tea.
Come and volunteer on a Tuesday morning, meet some new people, and make a real difference in helping others to find the support that they need.
Volunteers will be on a rota, so you will not be needed every Tuesday morning. The shift will be from 9.45am-12pm. Volunteers will set up, serve tea and coffee, put out board games and be ready to chat. One Community will provide information sheets about local services and will provide training for volunteers so that you are equipped to signpost visitors to local services.

Free Shop Space for Local Voluntary and Community Organisations.
Local charities, voluntary and community groups can book a one-off slot, perhaps in relation to a particular campaign “day” or “week”, or a regular slot, such as the first Monday of the month, for your organisation to showcase your services, host a meeting or simply attract new members.
The shop is available for bookings from Monday to Thursday.
This offer is open to any voluntary or community organisation, with priority given to members of One Community. Find out more about membership HERE.
You will have facilities to make tea/coffee, and chairs and tables will be available.
You will not able to sell any products directly to the public, but you could display a donation pot.
If you are interested, please contact the Voluntary Sector Support Team on 023 8090 2458 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
We wish all our; customers, staff, volunteers and the communities of Eastleigh and Fareham we serve, a very happy new year!
Looking back over 2019, we have done so much! Looking back to Shop Mobility collecting their service award from the mayor of Eastleigh, fast forward to moving to our temporary premises at 75 Leigh Road.
We have all worked hard to improve the lot of people in Fareham and Eastleigh through our community project support, volunteering, Eastleigh museum’s and Fareham’s shop outreach and Young Carers groups. Our transport appeal for funding for a new bus is almost at the point of being able to get one on the road and the day activity services are a fun and welcoming place to be.
Wishing all of you a very happy new year!
From all of us at One Community.
These events are all happening in support of the Eastleigh Mayors charities which, this year, include One Community projects.
The festive season is nearly with us and our Day Service teams have been planning plenty of opportunities for fun!
All of these pictures were taken at our central day activity centre.
There was plenty of music, singing and dancing and a wonderful treat when the children from local school, The Crescent came along to sing.
We have got some beautiful cards made too!
If you would like to do something different with your time, you could volunteer to help in the day service. If you would like more details or to chat through how we’d support, encourage and equip you to do it. Ring Julia on 02380902457
